A Virtual Private Network connection allows you to connect to the Penn State network remotely, and allows you to access certain resources. If you need to use the VPN, your first step is to visit https://downloads.its.psu.edu and select “Connecting to Penn State” to download and install the latest version of Cisco AnyConnect. Click "Connect." At the prompt, enter your Penn State Access Account userid and password. Installing the VPN Client under Windows XP. When installing the VPN client in the XP Pro environment, the "uninstall Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)" dialog box may appear. While you cannot uninstall ICS, you can disable it.
